American babies born from 2025 to 2028, the four years of Donald Trump’s second term, can register and have $1,000 invested for them in American shares. Despite being named after the president, the scheme is funded mostly by the taxpayer, with companies, wealthy individuals and parents adding top-ups(追加资金). Last year the Michael and Susan Dell Foundation(戴尔基金会) pledged(承诺（捐款）) $6.3bn for the programme. The Treasury has said that 6m Trump Accounts have been opened so far.
