EMO CULTURE was all the rage(风靡一时,非常流行) in 2006. In fact, rage was part of the appeal: “emo” stands for “emotional hardcore”, a style of music that combines intense punk-rock stylings with introspective(内省的,反省的) lyrics. Bands such as My Chemical Romance, Fall Out Boy, Panic! at the Disco and Paramore made the upper reaches of the charts(登上排行榜前列) in America and Britain. Teenagers sporting(穿戴(某物)) heavy black eyeliner and side fringes(侧分刘海) gathered in city centres and posted moody(忧郁的,情绪化的) selfies on Facebook and Myspace.
My Chemical Romance、Fall Out Boy、Panic! at the Disco和Paramore等乐队登上了美英排行榜的前列。
Now emo is back. My Chemical Romance is marking the 20th anniversary(纪念20周年) of its album “The Black Parade” with a worldwide stadium tour. The band recently played three gigs((现场)演出) at Wembley Stadium in London. Each night the 90,000-capacity venue was packed with(挤满了) screaming fans who had dug out(翻出来) their studded belts(铆钉腰带) for the occasion.
My Chemical Romance正以全球体育场巡演纪念专辑《The Black Parade》发行20周年。
It is not just My Chemical Romance that is getting fans in their feels(让粉丝动情). Fall Out Boy has toured in recent years. All Time Low played its biggest show ever at the O2 Arena(伦敦O2体育馆) in London earlier this year. Jimmy Eat World is currently on tour to celebrate the 25th anniversary of its “Bleed American” record. (One track urges the listener not to “write yourself off(放弃自己,自暴自弃) yet”—the band seemingly took its own advice to heart.)
My Chemical Romance。
