Dear Max, I run a large international sports organisation and had an absolutely brilliant idea for bringing in pots of money(大笔钱) fast. But everyone I work with hated it. When I told them about my plan, and gave them plenty of time to wave it through(顺利批准通过), all hell broke loose(突然大乱,闹翻了天). I might even lose my job. What did I do wrong? Gianni from Switzerland(影射国际足联主席詹尼·因凡蒂诺).
It’s possible there is more to this story than you are telling me, but you clearly forgot to do the pre-meets(会前会,预备会议). An enormous amount of time within organisations is spent holding meetings before the meeting.(组织内大量时间花在开“会前的会”上。) They are usually completely unnecessary. But sometimes you have to know whether people absolutely hate your big idea instead of(而不是) just announcing it.
Dear Max, I have an important position in the world of monetary policy(货币政策), but am not sure who I report to. There isn’t really an org chart but I have at least two bosses—the most powerful man in the world and the bond market—and they don’t seem to agree on things.(没有组织结构图,但有两个老板且意见不合。) What should I do? Kevin from Washington.
