Spain’s interior minister said that 70,000 of the 72,000 migrants who overran(涌入，侵占) Ceuta, a small Spanish enclave(飞地) in northern Morocco, had returned to Morocco. At least 141 people drowned attempting to enter the territory. The extraordinary breach of security(安全漏洞) created a sense of crisis in the European Union and caused Italy and other countries to say they would suspend co-operation in the Schengen border-free zone(申根无边境区) with Spain. Pedro Sánchez, Spain’s Socialist prime minister, accused critics of inflaming(煽动，激化) the situation. Ursula von der Leyen, president of the European Commission, praised Spain’s response and swift return of the migrants.

Ukraine, meanwhile, attacked more warehouses belonging to Wildberries, a Russian retailer that the army uses as a logistical hub(后勤枢纽) for equipment. At least five people died. And a Ukrainian drone missed its target and killed at least seven people on a Russian beach by the Black Sea.

Volodymyr Zelensky continued the shake-up(改组，大调整) of his senior officials, dismissing(解职，开除) Olha Stefanishyna as Ukraine’s ambassador to Washington. Ukrainian media reported that she was being investigated for alleged irregularities(违规行为) in declaring her assets. Ms Stefanishyna has not been charged.
