This week the Euro summer comes to an end(结束,告终) – and so does a certain type of posting on Instagram.
Waiting at the bus stop in the grey winter dawn, a slanting(倾斜的) rain soaking your trouser leg, you can warm yourself(使自己暖和起来) by scrolling your feed(信息流) and seeing pictures of Australians enjoying a Euro summer(欧洲之夏:社交媒体上的度假潮流). There it is again – azure(蔚蓝的) Greek coves(小海湾), plates of barbecued(烧烤的) sardines, the yachts(游艇) rented by the hour, and selfies(自拍照) on the balcony of some Paris Airbnb, drinking wine in the long, blue night.
But this year, just out of the frame(在画面之外) but never far away, was the heat. You can’t easily photograph heat but it infused(弥漫,充满) the season so monumentally(极其,非常) that it might just have killed the Euro summer dream cold.
