Bridgnorth Aluminium has faced down(顶住、成功应对) Brexit, Covid and repeated energy shocks(冲击、震荡) in recent years. But this winter is bringing extra “stress and pressure”, says its head of sales(销售主管), Adrian Musgrave.

Musgrave’s company makes rolled aluminium(轧制铝材), used in packaging, construction and the manufacture of items such as cars and batteries. Like many stretched(不堪重负的、捉襟见肘的) industrial businesses across Europe, Bridgnorth Aluminium faces a looming(迫近的、隐隐逼近的) threat of soaring energy bills, which Musgrave describes as “just worry upon worry(愁上加愁、祸不单行)”.
