Germany’s chancellor(总理), Friedrich Merz, has accused the far-right(极右翼的) Alternative für Deutschland (AfD) of seeking “ethnic cleansing(种族清洗)” with its “remigration(再移民（强制遣返）)” drive, after the nativist(本土主义的) party’s seismic(震撼性的) weekend victory in a state election.
德国总理弗里德里希·默茨指责极右翼政党德国选择党（AfD）以“再移民”为旗号，企图推行“种族清洗”。此前，这个本土主义政党在周末的州选举中取得了一场震动性的胜利。
In his first public confrontation(对抗、交锋) with the AfD since Sunday’s shock outcome in Saxony-Anhalt, Merz said at a raucous(喧闹的) parliamentary debate that the far-right party would take an axe to(大刀阔斧地砍掉) one of the pillar(支柱)s of the German economy with a racist campaign of mass deportations(大规模驱逐).
自周日萨克森-安哈尔特州选举爆出惊人结果以来，默茨首次与AfD公开交锋。他在一场喧闹的议会辩论中表示，这个极右翼政党若推行种族主义的大规模驱逐行动，将砍断德国经济的一大支柱。
“The term ‘remigration’ is nothing but(不过是、仅仅是) a synonym(同义词) for ethnic cleansing based on origin and skin colour,” he said on Wednesday to applause from the other parties in the Bundestag(德国联邦议院) lower house.
“所谓‘再移民’，不过是以出身和肤色为由进行种族清洗的同义词，”他周三在联邦议院下议院发表这番话时，其他党派纷纷鼓掌。
