OpenAI has urged British lawmakers to capitalise on(利用) renewed fears over AI safety and impose(强制实行，施加) legislation reining in the technology.

The company behind ChatGPT said the UK government should act immediately, following a call(在……呼吁之后) by its arch-rival(主要竞争对手) Anthropic to curb(限制，抑制) AI development.

“We support stronger UK rules for the handful(少数，少量) of companies, including OpenAI, developing the most powerful AI systems,” said OpenAI’s head of policy in Europe, Tom Duff Gordon.
