On the makeshift(临时的,凑合的) workbench in the cramped(狭窄的,拥挤的) front room of a cottage near the frontlines of the Russia-Ukraine war, there are all the accoutrements(装备,配备) of a drone workshop. The walls are lined with pliers and rolls of duct tape(强力胶带,封箱胶带); the table is cluttered with screwdrivers and piles of wire. Propped up against the wall are two kamikaze(自杀式的) drones. Only one item looks out of place(格格不入,不协调) in this Ukrainian village house: a pot of Chinese longjing tea(龙井茶,中国著名绿茶), the leaves wilted(枯萎的,蔫了的) from repeated top-ups.
Good tea is one of the many things that Tim misses(怀念,想念) about his life in China. His parents post monthly supplies(每月邮寄补给) to Ukraine. “I think about all of it,” the 44-year-old said, of his home country. “It brings back memories(勾起回忆) and emotions.”
