Hurricane Isaias crashed into(猛烈撞击；强行闯入) the US Gulf coast on Friday as a dangerous category 2 storm, hammering communities(重创社区) in Alabama and the Florida panhandle(狭长地带) with damaging winds, heavy rain, flooding and life-threatening storm surge(风暴潮)s.

The first hurricane of the Atlantic season made landfall(登陆) near Destin, Florida, the National Hurricane Center said. It had maximum sustained winds(持续风速) of 105 mph (169 kph). The storm weakened to just below major hurricane status before it came ashore(上岸；登陆).
