I recently started posting videos on Instagram. Like, actual videos(没错,是真正的视频).
Reels, as they call them. Where I say things, with one of those obnoxiously(令人讨厌地) tiny microphones with the fuzzy head on top. I remember when microphones were gigantic tubular monstrosities that you couldn’t accidentally swallow without a pretty substantial effort and a handful of God-given talent.(我记得以前的麦克风是巨大的管状怪物,你要是不费点劲、没点天赋,还真没法不小心把它吞下去。)
Why am I making Reels? Because if I don’t, I’ll die in obscurity(默默无闻), penniless(身无分文) and alone. The global creative industry revolves around video content on social media, forcing even a mildly attractive middle-aged divorced parent to try to be a star just to pay the bills.(全球创意产业都围着社交媒体上的视频内容转,逼得连一个略有姿色的中年离异家长也得努力当明星,只为付账单。)
